A story that could be true

A STORY THAT COULD BE TRUE
by William Stafford

If you were exchanged in the cradle and
your real mother died
without ever telling the story
then no one knows your name,
and somewhere in the world
your father is lost and needs you
but you are far away.

He can never find
how true you are, how ready.
when the great wind comes
and the robberies of the rain
you stand in some corner shivering.
The people who go by-
you wonder at their calm.

They miss the whisper that runs
any day in your mind,
"Who are you really wanderer?"-
and the answer you have to give
no matter how dark and cold
the world around you is:
"Maybe I'm a king."
"Maybe I'm a queen."

Oh well, just started to see another series and took this poem from it. This one is called "The Riches" and it's about a poor family that by accident starts to live the life of a rich couple. The thing is that so far (and I've only seen one episode) it looks reeeealy nice. The cast acts well, the story it's not cheesy and the soundtrack is great! Maybe I'll make a review of it later.

If you liked Weeds, then I guess you would also like this one.

The sweet geekness, The IT Crowd

Hello there! Just seen this British series, always seeking for something like The Office, but I guess you only see something like that in a life time, what was I talking about?, oh the series I've seen... it's called The IT Crowd, in a short review I can say that it's passed in an IT department and it takes out and juices the sweet side of geekness (yup, there is one). Don't expect a television version of xkcd! That (I guess) wouldn't be very popular in a large audience. But you can expect a nice friendly series, and here are some of the jokes, which I've liked.

Jen: What are you laughing at?
Moss: This flipping circuit board, Jen,
Moss: Some chump has run the data line right through the power supply.
Moss: Amateur hour!
Moss: I've got tears in my eyes.

Even If my short review didn't startled your appetite's give it a taste at youtube's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEqw9o62ncQ

PS: I really hate recorded laughs in comedy, that was the major turn down

Adeus! (bye in Portuguese)

How to show only labels used more than one time in blogger?

Well I wanted to show only labels used more than one time in my Labels (in order to have a small label list). You can also change it to more than two or three times, it's up to you.

To do that you have to:
1- Go to "Template>Edit HTML"
2- Check the box "Expand Widget Templates"
3- Add an If condition like if cond='data:label.count > 1' in a b tag and close the if again. Like shown in blue.
That's all! :)

free time + idea = youtube

I've always liked video, short movies and so on. So just grabbed my Canon S5 and decided to make this very short 30 seconds stop motion movie that represents 13 minutes from my balcony. To merge the captured photos into a movie I've used MonkeyJam, a great free program for Windows to make stop motion movies.

Edit: A new film a bit more longer 01:38 from the same view with different time .

Minesweeper: The Movie

A parody with the quality seal from college humor :D

How to Hunt Elephants

Just loved this joke, it kinda looks familiar to me in some points.
How to Hunt Elephants

Mathematicians hunt elephants by going to Africa, throwing
out everything that is not an elephant, and catching one of
whatever is left. Professors of mathematics prove the
existence of at least one elephant and leave the capture of
an actual elephant as an exercise for one of their graduate
students.

Computer scientists hunt elephants using algorithm A:

1. Go to Africa
2. Start at the Cape of Good Hope
3. Work northward in an orderly manner, traversing the
continent alternately East and West.
4. During each traverse
a. Catch each animal seen
b. Compare each animal caught to a known elephant
c. Stop when a match is detected.

Experienced computer programmers modify Algorithm A by
placing a known elephant in Cairo to ensure that the
algorithm will terminate.

Engineers hunt elephants by going to Africa, catching gray
animals at random, and stopping when any one of them weighs
within plus or minus 15 percent of any previously observed
elephant.

Economists don't hunt elephants, but they believe that if
elephants are paid enough they will hunt themselves.

Statisticians hunt the first animal they see N times and
call it an elephant.

Consultants don't hunt elephants, but they can be hired by
the hour to advise those who do.

Operations research consultants can measure the correlation
of hat size and bullet color to the efficiency of elephant
hunting strategies, if someone else will identify the elephants.

Politicians don't hunt elephants, but they will share the
elephants you catch with the people who voted for them.

Lawyers don't hunt elephants, but they do follow the herds
around arguing about who owns the droppings. Software
lawyers will claim that they own an entire herd based on the
look and feel of one dropping.

When the Vice President of R&D tries to hunt elephants, his
staff will try to ensure that all elephants are completely
prehunted before he sees them. If the VP sees a
nonprehunted elephant, the staff will (1) Compliment the
vice president's keen eyesight and (2) enlarge itself to
prevent any recurrence.

Senior managers set broad elephant hunting policy based on
the assumption that elephants are just like field mice, but
with deeper voices.

Quality assurance inspectors ignore the elephants and look
for mistakes the other hunters made when they were packing
the jeep.

Salespeople don't hunt elephants but spend their time
selling elephants they haven't caught, for delivery two
days before the season opens. Software salespeople ship the
first thing they catch and write up an invoice for an
elephant. Hardware salespeople catch rabbits, paint them
gray and sell them as "desktop elephants."
